Dani Catalán Dávila, born in 1989 in Onda, Spain, started his musical education under the tutelage of drummer Eloy Puertas. He obtained his classical percussion degree in Valencia, studying under the guidance of Manel Ramada. Specializing in jazz vibraphone, he furthered his studies at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen (Germany) under the mentorship of Florian Poser. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in music research from the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja. He has been recognized with first-place international prizes in multiple prestigious competitions, both in classical and jazz performance.
He has held teaching positions in vibraphone at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. In addition to his performance and educational pursuits, he has composed music for various theatrical productions, including: Draussen vor die Tür (2020 with director Luise Voigt), Monstermonster! (2021 with Franziska Werner), Amsterdam (2023), and Antigone (2024) at the Oldenburg State Theatre, Serenade für Nadja (2024) at the Theater Oberhausen and Heartship (2025) at Schauspielhaus Zürich with the director Ebru Tartici Borchers.
